Animated Explainer Video
PTS required a short video to explain who they are and how their services help companies. We wanted the video to look like a mix between a traditional paper cutout stop animation, and a computer generated 2.5D animation – this included integrating the use of 3D elements and shadowing.
We always try to bring extra elements into our work, for example in this animation, we added a 3D perspective with the coins falling into the safe. This was built in a 3D software called Cinema 4D, this allowed the coins to react with each other in 3D space. The animation was then converted into a 2D animation using track mattes to lose any shading.
Dan, our contact at Protected Travel Services, was really pleased with the final video. He uses it often to explain to clients in short how the service works. Scroll down to see a testimonial from Dan.
When we started working on the script with the client, we had a few creative concepts. They liked the look of the shadows in this concept, so we ended up expanding on that. When dealing with a subject such as travel insurance, we knew that we had to create something bright and animated in order to hold the viewers attention.
The sound FX brings a friendly element to the animation and reinforces the content in the video. Thank you to the wonderful Danielle Perry from Absolute Radio for producing our voiceover.
